BUSINESS MIGRATION & VISAS

Business visas are for people who possess the skills, acumen, experience and potentials of managing businesses and investments. The Business Migration program creates and offers pathways to successful business people and investors to settle temporarily and/or permanently in Australia. The options vary from provisional visas to permanent visas and include the following :

Provisional Visas

1. Business Innovation stream

This visa is for people with business management skills who want to establish, develop and manage new or existing businesses in Australia having had the experience of running and managing their own businesses successfully in the home country. This is a common visa for people owning and running businesses.

To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the points-test, certain financial requirement, other related criteria and be nominated by a state or territory government in Australia. You will then have to be invited to apply.

This is a four (5) year visa and upon complying and satisfying certain requirements, the visa holder can apply for the permanent visa. You can include your family members in your visa as well.

2. Investor stream

The visa is for people who have successfully managed their investments and possess investment skills. It is a provisional visa.

It requires you to invest at least AUD 2.5 million in Australian investments that meet certain requirements and maintain business and investment activity in Australia subsequently upon obtaining the visa.  

To be eligible for this visa, you must be meet the points test, certain other criteria, and be nominated by a state or territory government in Australia and be invited to apply.

3. Significant Investor stream

This visa is for people who are willing to invest at least AUD 5 million into complying investments in Australia and want to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.

To be eligible for this visa you have to be nominated by a state or territory government in Australia and invited to apply. There is no points-test for this stream.

This is a four (5) year provisional visa and upon complying and satisfying certain requirements, the visa holder can apply for the permanent visa.

4. Premium Investor Visa

This visa is for people who are willing to invest at least AUD 15 million into complying investments in Australia and/or philanthropic contributions that meet certain requirements.

To be eligible for this visa you must be nominated by Austrade and be invited to apply. There is no points-test for this stream.

This is a four 4 years + 3 month provisional visa and upon complying and satisfying certain requirements, the visa holder can apply for the permanent visa.

5. Entrepreneur stream

This is for people who have a funding agreement from a third party to undertake, or propose to undertake a complying entrepreneurial activity in Australia.  Applicants must be nominated by a state or territory government.
